NEA Big Read: Hampton Roads, Chesapeake Public Library Competition

NEA Big Read: Hampton Roads is a community-wide partnership between Old Dominion University, public libraries and other key organizations in Hampton Roads, Virginia. The NEA Big Read is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.
Taking place between February 21 and March 21, 2019, there will be dozens of events, all kicked off by a visit from Claudia Rankine, author of Citizen: An American Lyric, on Thursday, February 21.
Winners of this competition will be invited to attend a small-group discussion with Ms. Rankine from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
You must login below to access the submission form, which includes the prompt “Please upload an expression of your feelings or reactions to the vignette that most resonated with you in Claudia Rankine's Citizen: An American Lyric.”
Your submission can be any medium that you choose (visual art, writing, music, video, etc.), but the file size must be less than 400 MB. Written submissions should not exceed 10 pages, and recorded submissions should not exceed 10 minutes. Most file types are accepted. Please contact your hosting institution if your file is not successfully uploaded.
The deadline for submissions is 11:59 p.m. on January 21, 2019. Winners will be notified by February 4.
